Ron Engle - HVAC/R Technology Instructor
I have been teaching at Gadsden City High School since 2007 and have been in the HVAC/R Industry since 1991. I have a Masters of Ed. Instructional Leadership degree from University of West Alabama, B.S. of Education degree in Post Secondary Technical Education from Athens State University and Computer Technology Certificate from Manhattan Area Technical College. I am HVAC/R, EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant, and Electrical State Certified (HVAC Provisional). Along with NATE and Plumbing/Gas Fitting certification, I am an authorized OSHA, NCCER HVAC Instructor, ESCO Proctor, and Duct Envelop Tightness Verifier/Instructor. My 32+ years of field experience allows me to show and teach students the proper way to use tools, perform working tasks safely, and cultivate troubleshooting skills/procedures. I continue to pursue the newest and latest technology in the HVAC/R Industry by still working in the field and professional development training/conferences.
I have enjoyed teaching young men and ladies the trade of heating and air conditioning as well as preparing them with the soft skills needed for the workforce. Each year I have tried to push myself further to stay on top of new upcoming technology while not leaving the basics and general theory behind. Each student has the potential to become whatever he or she wants to become. If the desire is evident, I will do all that I can for he or she to reach that goal and to obtain that skill. My goal is to prepare the WORKING generation to obtain the next level they may want to achieve.
