SkillsUSA: United as One
SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers and industry working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel.
SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.
Each year a student competes in the HVACR Skills/USA competition to represent Gadsden City High School. This student will compete against other high school students in the state. The student will be asked to braze, compute air flow, troubleshoot Gas furnaces & Heat pumps, measure superheat and sub-cooling, pull down of a refrigeration system, refrigerant identification, and take a HVACR written exam. The student will then proceed to the National competition if a 1st place win is obtained.
